Barbados Tourism Marketing Director of Public Relations Aprille Thomas
Aprille Thomas heads up the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI) Public Relations Department, overseeing all PR efforts for the U.S., Canada, U.K., Latin America and the Caribbean, along with corporate communications for the organization.
The Barbados native joined BTMI after leading on PR strategy at the five-diamond Sandy Lane Hotel, and later helping Canadian fashion brand Joe Fresh expand internationally into Saudi Arabia, Egypt, South Korea, Mexico and the Philippines. Prior to her PR career, Aprille was Magazine Editor for Fine Cuisine, Parenting Today and Smart Homes magazines. She is a graduate of Leicester University U.K., and Saint Michael’s College, Vermont, USA.
A creative powerhouse, Aprille is a multiple award-winning writer and published author, whose innovation allows her to conceptualize new and inspiring ideas that resonate with consumers and increase engagement for brands.
When asked to describe the Caribbean island, she shares words such as “warm,” “inviting” and “personable, ” which is anyone visiting will certainly agree with.
“I think that Barbados has the best of all Caribbean experiences,” she says regarding the diverse lifestyles that the island caters to from luxury to moderate and even eco-friendly.
