Petra Roach Puts the Caribbean Island of Grenada on Global Stage

This past April, the Caribbean island of Grenada was the host destination for The Caribbean Tourism Organization’s Sustainable Tourism conference. While visit the island for business or pleasure, you can’t help to notice the country’s commitment to the environment.

“I think we really direct nice that we have to be protective of our scarce resource. We are a tourism dependent country, and ultimately we want to number 1, ensure that our people have an environment is conducive to healthy living. We want to ensure that our people have an environment that is protected for future generations. And at the same time we then share that environment with other people visiting.”

Food and fun. We could not talk about Grenada with out talking about the fact that the country is the second largest producer of nutmeg in the world or the fact that it hosted the Caribbean first James Beard Foundation dinner in May. In addition, this year’s carnival known as Spice Mas which take place in August is completely sold out.
