Food Entrepreneur Tamia Coleman-Hawkins
Tamia Coleman-Hawkins knew at a young age that she wanted to be an entrepreneur. The Missouri native started Mia’s Treats Delight at just 8 years old.
Fast forward eight years later and the young foodpreneur is managing a growing business as a sophomore in high school. With math and science something she is naturally good at, it is only fitting that she chose baking as career path creating sweet favorites that are enjoyed by customers far and wide, her local community and fellow classmates.
Embracing all that entrepreneurship comes with, Tamia has also added board member to her impressive resume and currently an active board members with The Mission Attempt nonprofit in her hometown of St. Louis, Missouri.

Leading By Example
She was named as The ROOT Young Futurist 2020 and Living Legends Young Shero 2022 and has made it a lifelong mission to combat homelessness by donating proceeds from classes and other activities to this worthy cause.
“When I started my business, I was like, ” Okay, not only do I want to like make my own rules, and like make my own money and all of the perks that come along with being a business owner, I also want to use my business to help these people. So one of my main goals has always been to help the homeless.”
As a 16-year-old business owner, she has already learned a lot which she loves to share with others, especially her peers looking to start a business. A few of which she is sharing in this episode.
